Low GPU Usage

This is not a GPU problem, nor a CPU problem.

In both bf3 and skyrim my gpu usage on both of my cards is not anywhere near the high 90's. in skyrim it is understandable because I have vsync on and the game acts up with vsync off. It should also be known that the beta drivers that nvidia has out right nowhelped skyrim use more of my gpu then before, or at least thats what it seems. I am hitting the 60fps cap more often.

In bf3, the usage varies between the 50% mark and up to the high 90's. I did not have this problem a few weeks ago. I did a fresh install recently to clean things up and switched from the proper release of nvidia drivers to the beta. with both of those drivers the gpu usage still acts up. The beta drivers seem to perform a little better.

I read some posts on here accusing the possibility of servers. is that possible?

I also read post of cpu bottlenecks, even for people with i7's and quad cores not even maxing out. Please don't tell me it is a cpu bottleneck, I know it is not.

My question is, along with the other questions above, is anyone else getting this?

It's a CPU bottleneck 50

but nah, i'd run things like furmark, Heaven and 3dMark just to confirm it's the game. I'd personally blame the game and/or servers It's still quite new so they will tweak it etc anyway soon.

It's just wierd because it wasnt doing this before. I'll run those and see what I get, but I don't doubt that the game or servers is causing it one bit. I wonder how many other people with similar systems are doing with this issue?

Lets look at this logically, if it's not the game or the servers then it's your machine. Who would you rather blame? You or them.

I get that and I am definitely going to run my tests. This doesn't happen in other games though, such as black ops. It makes sense to put the blame on them, and drivers at this point, but you are correct in telling me what you are telling me, and I appreciate it.

Logic always wins, but it's not your machine, it's a game in it's relatively child stages so I wouldn't worry too much, it'll improve in time biggrin.gif
