how do you fix the lag on skyrim?

Im getting a litle lag on skyrim and my friend informs me that its called screen tearing because I took vsync off. Putting Vsync on doesnt help as it still laggy with the fps not staying at a constant 60. Anyway to fix this?

I herd force disabling V-Sync through the control panel solves the issuse.

Yeah... Vsync was pretty bad with the lag on mines... Forcing it off through the nvidia control panel solved it for me. If you absolutely need Vsync, try triple buffering or upgrade to a 120hz monitor.....

No problem here on ultra settings at 1360x768 with vsync. Not sure at 1080p. GTX570 is more than enough for this game.
