I'm curious why people are saying this--what sorts of benchmarks/reviews/performance comparisons are you looking at? Because in...like...99% of the ones I've seen, the 8150 scores better than the 1100T. The only deciding factor for people considering BD vs. Thuban is price--since the OP said that price really didn't matter so long as it was either BD or Thuban, I don't see why you wouldn't choose BD since it nets better performance.

8150 is a new architecture, lots of fun.
I'm having a great time with my bd chip.
And... honestly, while people trash the bd, I'll play a bit more of skyrim and... you know... enjoy my rig.

The 1100T is still beast.
I think the new FX CPU's don't get enough credit, I'd probably go with the FX and overclock the crap out of it but the X6 is capable at 4.0Ghz as well.

I'd let the price dictate my choice, both respectable CPU's.

Difference is the bulldozer will do 4ghz on stock voltage where the 1100t wont.
Clock for clock the bulldozer needs to be 200mhz higher to beat the X6 processors at floating point, 100mhz higher to beat it at ram tests. Everything else it wastes the X6 chips at no problem.

If there was the option for the 8120 id vote for that since its better value and overclocks just as well up until 4.6ghz where the 8150 will start needing less voltage then the 8120.

depends on the sse code. There are some big improvements in sse code on the BD series, that don't show their hand in many of these old legacy heavy benchmark apps.

just depends on the code a bunch.

How high does the 1100T usually overclock? 4.2Ghz?
