My computer monitor isn't that far away away from my face, I think. Maybe like 2x as far away (just cause I don't hold tablet that close to my face). But the screen is also 2x as a big so...

its definitely progressive, also you'd be able to tell if it was interlaced.

The iPad is 768p since the vertical resolution of the device is 768. It's a very common term nowadays and I'm most definitely not the first to use it, not in this thread and not in this forum. So go troll someone else.

They aren't personal; nor are they insults. Through observation, you are spreading wrong information about a company in which you openly admit to going on these Apple defending crusades; which in results disturbs the peace, order, etc., on these boards. It's a classification; not an insult. I'm sorry you feel that way.

No, the iPad is not 768p. The similarity you are referencing would imply a 16:9 format. 768p, under layman terms, would be 1366x768. The "p" references refers to just that. Nearly all monitors are progressively driven, in which the reference to "p" is only left to those who don't quite understand what they are talking about when using it in this context. The only socially referenced models that contain the "p" format, which the mass knows of, is in 16:9 formats.

Please, stop spreading wrong information about Apple.

You are not a moderator, so stop trying to act like one. Simply report and move on; like everyone else. Your contribution only fuels flame wars on these boards.

I need to be 4 inches from my SGS II in order to see individual pixels. I have 20-20 vision with glasses. It is very uncomfortable to be 4 inches from my screen for an extended period of time.

No.

No.

I have to be 0 inch close to iPhone 4 and still cant see the pixels. You can easily see them in GSII since it has such massive screen. GSI had higher pixel density. Also steelbom you dont seem to understand. Its different to use a Dual Core CPU and actually fully use it. It like game back in the day. They would run in a dual CPU better 20-30% but that its. Now its 100% better vs single core. Also Its same idea as having a dual core CPU now and a quad to use Windows. The only real reason of having the quad is for stuff that actually use it. Dropping a iPad 3 with a Quad core will not make it faster unless they make apps especially for the quad core and only the quad core. You are not going to get much faster response then iPad 2 now in terms of OS.

You call me a troll constantly, you say I lack knowledge and say I spread lies. They are insults, and funnily enough, you are actually wrong about the usage of "p". I don't spread wrong information. And AS I HAVE SAID AT LEAST EIGHT OTHER TIMES, I don't go on Apple crusades, it was a joke for goodness sakes.

This has become personal for you because you no longer refute what I say rather you attack me directly by calling me a troll, saying I lack knowledge, spread lies, you've even publicly said I should be banned and I've had enough of it.

It is, and I guess you didn't read Lordikons post then? I'll post it below for you. Because funnily enough you're actually wrong.

I don't act like one, and my contributions do not "fuel flame wars". I will report you though, because I've just had enough. I don't care if you refute everything I say, but stop with the insults. (Which I might mention I've said before several times, yet you still continue to insult me.)

Please tell me what progressive scan has to do with a 16:9 aspect ratio? For example, what aspect ratio is 480p? There are in fact multiple resolutions and aspect ratios that qualify as 480p. The "p" only denotes the line scanning method, nothing more.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/480p
As for 768p there are two common resolutions at the format, 1366x768, and 1024x768. So guess what, the iPad is indeed 768p.
I recommend reading this as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_scan

No.

We're talking about the iPad, the iPad is less clear (and I can see individual pixels on it) while it's 2.5 feet from my face than an iPhone is at 4 inches.

iPhone 4 pixel density (pixels per square inch): 326
Samsung Galaxy 2 pixel density: 218.501
iPad pixel density: 132

Most people sit with a tablet at 10-16 inches away, so it's very easy to see the pixels in an iPad at that distance. It could definitely use higher pixel density, just like the iPhone needed it before the iPhone 4.

With the iPhone 4 I can barely manage to see individual pixels at 4 inches away, and that is with 30-20 vision (better than 20/20). Being that I don't keep the phone at 4 inches from my face ever because it hurts to focus that close, the pixel density on the iPhone is such that much more density wouldn't help, but the iPad is less than half of that pixel density, and about 70% less dense than even the SGS2, so it's very noticeable. And yes the pixels on the SGS2 are noticeable, but not to the point that it's a big deal. Maybe you should compare side by side with the iPhone 4/4S. The SGS2 screen is great, and large, but in terms of clarity from pixel density, Apple wins, and they want that same clarity on the iPad 3 I'm sure, and who could blame them?
