I have 2 of the dark blue ones and also 2 of the hyperx limited edition sticks that are black and red lol. They are both the same 1600Mhz and CL9. confusing yes but they work in harmony just fine.

Edit:seems to be no difference even voltages are the same. Should be just fine (get the cheaper ones hehe)

shoot just noticed that one is 2 sticks @ 2gb each and other is 2 sticks at 4gb... still same speed and latency and voltage so should be fine

Memory manufacturers often and randonly change the components that go into memory sticks and keep tthe specs the same.
There are only about three or four companies that make memory ICs (the little black squares on the sticks) and manufacturers constantly seek the lowest pricing for them. That's the reason why there are "matched" sets of memory, they all have IC's from the same production run from the same IC manufacturer.

What the original poster is proposing is using unmatched memory. This would be fine if there wasn't going to be any overclocking invilved. Memory with the same specs, though not "matched" should be fine in any stock application. But when overclocking is involved, the greater the mismatch the less they will overclock. Many consider memory with the same CAS as equivalent, some even go so far a to check all four timings. In actuality there are over 30 timing specs that have to be equal for memory to be "matched".

Hmmmm

What was the Max Acyncronous Latency? How about Read Preamble?

The sticks you want to buy will be fine, it's just that how your system will overclock with them in is unknown and unpredictable.

i just had someone compare all the numbers in the BIOS and they were all the same lol, i think the difference is one stick supports INTEL XMP, and one doesnt. does that matter?

Just to let you know, there are no BIOS' that report ALL the timings, you need special software to even see then, nuch less change them.

Again, that's what "matched" memory takes care of.
