my advice, check specs of games for minimum recomended and go from there... not point in spending more $$$ for parts that a probably not nessasary... Build to what suits your budget... I wouldn't break the bank to squeez a few more fps out of something that will be quite playable at 25-40fps

WoW ran great for me with a q6600 and a 9500gt 50 or so fps on high graphics settings

Yes, actually so amazing that they mismarked the board I purchased so it was actually $30 cheaper than it should'a been. So total for chip and board was $142, great deal. I too was going to go with AMD but for only a few bucks more I opted for the i3 since it beat the X4's in basically every benchmark I saw.
