[Toms] New Patch Locks Skyrim to Steam Forever and Ever - Page 3

Preventing third party mods obviously an unintended consequence of the new patch. One of Howards' selling points for the Pc was support for the modding community through developer tools. Relax you'll all get your mods.

Skyrim4GB will attempt to load the SKSE loader (skse_steam_loader.dll).
Skyrim4GB no longer hooks GetTickCount().

Yep this or download the Unpatched EXE and play in offline mode.....

I personally went with the unpatch EXE but only until the next BIG patch comes out that actually fixes bugs and performance issues.....and DLC

This honestly isn't a big deal to work around. Should we have to work around it? No. But I shouldn't have to install 3rd party software to play my games, and I'll do what it takes to get around it.

Patches like these are a waste of Bethesda's time, as there was a work around for it hours after the patch went live. I will continue to download whatever it takes to play any single player game without steam. I paid for it, so I'm gonna use it however I want.
