I have an M5A78L-M LX PLUS.
Running an AMD 960T Black Edition unlocked and OCed (6 cores @ 4ghz) and had ZERO problems running Prime95, Battlefield 3 and other stressful things for hours at a time for a couple weeks now.
OC settings: multiplier 20x, cpuv 1.45 and CPUNB to 2600mhz.
But then I touched the mosfets after some reading.
I didn't get burned, but WOW, they were hot.
Did some more reading, turns out that HWMonitor was reporting the CPU at 156 watts, and this is a 3+1 board rated at 125 watts.
I also read that ASUS has Over Current Protection and should protect the VRMs.
Still researching, not sure if this board will safely hold up for me, but I haven't had problems yet...

I am trying to overclock my FX-4100 on M5A78L LE board. I will not exceed 3.9 ghz, but I need more opinions from you guys. Is it safe to stay on 3.9? couple hours on prime 95 runing and all is stable for now. This is my picture of various specs.

Tnx in advance
p.s. please take a look on powers in HW monitor. Is it safe for this mobo?

That`s normal, when you run some game or other high priority program your processor will run at max stock speed of 3.6 ghz.

Thanks for the reply. machine runs great. also running 8gig of ram, patriot signature g2 ddr3 1600, Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1tb hd, sata 3 coolermaster elite 311 case, Corsair cx 430 power supply. No video card at this time, not into gaming much anymore, have a Asus a8nsli system with 2 msi 6600 gt cards. What would be a good budget card for this system? Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Thanks for any tips. This site is very helpful.

What's your budget for the card and monitor resolution?

I'm running 1440x900 on the resolution, I would like to stay under $100, I'm not a big gamer at this time.
Thanks
