Just saying, but technically your post, along with mine here, are both against the TOS.

The OP is totally right here. My old laptop can't handle the site so my help source is limited if the rig is down for some reason.

Edit: Why did OCN change? There was nothing wrong with the old version. Yes it was not beautiful but there was nothing wrong with user interaction or navigation throughout the website.

The change was because the back-end simply wasn't cutting it, and they wanted the public to SEE and appreciate the change, rather than emulate the old look on a new software system. In theory that's all well and good, they just did it in a way that was rather sudden and extreme, and has alienated a good number of users.

It had to be done, it just should have been done smarter.

It's a new system, why would we skin it to look exactly like the old one? We kept the color scheme, logos, and all content. Our homepage is the forums, UNLIKE other Huddler sites. I keep laughing at people who say the change was sudden. We gave y'all years worth of notice, do you need more?

Most things were broken on the old site, they were just cobbled together so members couldn't tell. Ever try to use old OCN search? Fairly useless! thumb.gif

I've used IE9, Chrome, and FF on it and all work perfectly fine. I'd say Chrome runs the best. It didn't run great on IE7, but then again, nothing does. That was also on a piece of junk thin PC with a terrible screen resolution.

I should be more respectful ? wow, that takes gaul to say when you have been so direspectful to the users through the thin veil of politeness while trashing a community they built. They are the value, not the website. A bussiness, website, community is nothing without the people who are in it. the king of a empty palace, is a man sitting upon a chair.
the biggest irritation, that most of the things I just spot lighted as being performance hogs, are things that should be trivial to disable. Just trivial. the real problem here is feature creep and poorly performing language selection. It should have been spotted long before it luanched and been adressed. How anyone can sit here and tell me they didn't see a problem, is beyond insulting.
so while my language may be more verbose and direct, its better then trying to say it politely while being disrespectful enough to piss all over the community that makes OCN that great site that it is.
With that, I'll just keep lurking and see if you can manage to cobble this platform into something respectable. If not, I'll just go somewhere else.
See ya around.

Good Riddance biggrin.gif

i happen to LOVE the new site and i have no performance problems whatsoever
As others have said lose the attitude and it MAY get fixed.
Attitude doesnt get you anywhere(personal experience) but being nice does... So take a chill pill and pass the roll. tongue.gif

I am sorry you DON'T OWN this website.

I'm not sure what your point is, there's no denying the validity of his arguments...

Yeah there is. ^_^

I kind of wonder how old are the computers some of you are using which, even after the relatively recent performance tweaks/upgrades, is still having problems? I mean, maybe it's time to toss it out? Sure, in the beginning, I could understand complaints, but now? o_O

It might not be as fast, supposedly (I say this because I've tried the new site on multiple computers, old and newer and had no issues), as the old site, but "can't handle the site"... really?

Since the new site, I've seen people complaining that their laptops and older systems can't handle the new site, I thought my phone would die if I tried to use OCN due to the complaints and refrained from looking on OCN whilst plonked on the carsey.

It's an 800Mhz Samsung Spica/Portal on Eclair, It's got extremely low free memory and RAM and you know what? It loads the new site really well in actuality, about as quick as it used to load the old one.

My only problems with it, is when I zoom in to look at the photo's, it shrinks the photo's aswell, whereas the old site would enlarge everything when I zoomed in.

I also don't use that blasted Tapatalk, I use the bog-standard browser on it, and Skyfire.

Same, my D1 manhandles the new site even quicker than the old one. It's over 2 years old!

The edit button is generally used to make changes, not just cut or erase things. The pencil, with an eraser, makes sense to be that icon.

Example: If you're writing a letter, and you want to make a change, you don't grab your scissors, or just your eraser. You grab your pencil, turn it around, use the eraser, and continue writing. ^_^

I wonder, what was the previous site you were banned from before coming to OCN? I only ask because you haven't been here long, and with all the passionate hatred you have for the site now, it is like you've been here for years and they're ruining your prized forum. As a n00b, it would be relatively easy to move on, wouldn't it?

Unless you've over stayed your welcome at other sites, or you hate all other sites as well... but for different reasons.
