Finalizing my i5-2500k build, need confirmation?

Hello everyone,

I'm come to a decision for my build and I am in need of help from you guys to make sure everything is compatible before I put in the order.

CPU: i5-2500k
GPU: 2x HD 6850 (or 6950 2Gb, idk, your thoughts?)
MOBO: ASUS Rampage Maximus Gene-Z (Compatible with my GPUs?)
PSU: 750W Antec
HDD: 1TB
RAM: Corsair 8GB Vengeance

CPU COOLER: Antec Kuhler 620 or 920, H50~H80 series, or Noctua Nd-h14?

(I am aware the issue of Noctua nd-h14 and the corsair RAMs, If I'm not wrong.. this guy pulled it off with the same motherboard I'm getting? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPHqey190AI)

But I kind of don't want to take the risk, so eliminate the Noctua... :'(

EDIT:
I will be overclocking with my CPU, perhaps to 4.5ghz, I don't want a hyper 212+ because I currently HAVE it but I will be giving it to my dad's HTPC and it doesn't go with my corsair RAM (I wanted a two fan setup).. (Stupid tall heatsink)... That is why I want to go with liquid cooling this time.

The Maximus IV Gene-Z will definitely support your CFX cards

I would personally avoid any possible CFX issues and go for a single card solution, but that's me. Yes, the 6850s will give better performance in most cases, but any issues that crop leave you with a single 6850. If you're spending ~$300 on your GPU setup, go for a single 6970 or GTX 570, which will also let you get a less expensive PSU in the 550W range.

I have an Antec 920 and I've got my 2500k at 4.5GHz (with a lot more room for overclocking) on the silent setting- it's a good buy if you can get it on sale.

Grab a SSD, I just ordered all my parts 20 mins ago smile.gif I recommend an amd 6950 2gb, flash it to 6970. You can also add another 6950 in the future. For an SSD I bought this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148441

Your build is fine. 2x6850's will probably be faster than a 6950, but I'd personally get the 6950 to Crossfire Later. Keep in mind the Gene has tight PCIe spacing, so cooling might be a problem for the top card.

EDIT** My bad, I thought you bought the 6950! and the SSD looks good I will take it under consideration.

I don't need an AMD 6950...yet biggrin.gif I will probably sell my 6870 in the future when I need an upgrade and buy 2x 6950's
EDIT: After the 6950's drop in price a bit.
