They should take a hint from Blizzard...

Where players will buy multiple copies of the same game... ( SC2 ) because the game is that good...

You don't teach publishers a lesson, you just strengthen their resolves to come up with new forms of drm.
I think Ubisoft makes generally good games. If they sucked, why are they popular targets for pirates? I guarantee people aren't wasting their time and bandwidth just to try and teach Ubisoft a lesson.
I bought SC: Conviction a few months after release after all the server issues were ironed out (which were primarily caused by attacks by kids who wanted to stick it to Ubi). Overall I had a great experience. I enjoyed the game for what it was instead of lamenting the fact it wasn't Chaos Theory 2 (if you love CT so much, just go back and play it). Also I had 0 issues with the always on drm. All the "what if" doomsday scenarios where either completely overstated or were caused by the direct backlash of the community. Honestly if people were polled, I guarantee the majority of PC gamers have a stable, always on broadband connection at home. Pretty hard to be a serious gamer these days without one.
This will likely end up falling on deaf ears, but the fact is the community is split. The legit gamers will continue to be marginalized by publishers with shoddy ports (if a game is ported at all) and drm they don't want. Pirates will continue to hide behind some deluded sense of honor and fool themselves into thinking the industry forces them to pirate. Because of that chasm, the pc gaming community will continue to be under served. I say this as a former game pirate myself. When I first got into pc gaming it was easy and cool. After listening to the concerns of publishers just like Ubisoft blame piracy for a lot of pc gaming's troubles, I realized I was part of the problem, so I converted myself to being part of the solution and went legit.
Stop sticking up for piracy. There's no excuse for it and it's hurting the industry.
That's what happens when you try to sell a commodity with infinite supply that's easily duplicated. hurrrr.

Blizzard is the only PC developer where this applies, cant think of any others. I would never buy two copies of the same game that is just idiotic and a waste of money.

Try the game at 100% sync makes it harder and adds more missions which gives you insight to ezios back story. However I do not believe you could have bought all the shops, beat the game and got all your assassins to the max level all in one day.

This

I have 35 hours with ACB and 25 hours with AC2, I never got disconnected from ubisoft online, while I cannot count the number of times steam went down, however I do not say steam is crap and unreliable. Whats sad I was hesitant on getting the games because of rumors of ubisoft's service I heard on this site, I am glad I did in the end as I would have missed out on two great games just because of people blatantly over exaggerating.

Let me make a list of publishers/developers that do it right:

Valve (and Steam) does it right
EA (with Battlefield 3) does it right
Blizzard does it right

All of those companies are highly successful on multiple platforms for a reason; they take care of and listen to their customers.

Do you know why Ubisoft is going down hill? Because of statements like the one in the original post, blaming gamers for their issues. Here's the real issue: If you don't make a good product, don't expect people to buy it. There, I said it. I'm not endorsing piracy in any way, shape, or form with this statement. I would never pirate a game to "test it out" as some people do. I'm an intelligent person, and I know how to do my research. I read some reviews, I watch videos, I listen to user feedback... basically, I look at the big picture.

The problem with Ubisoft as of late has to do with 2 major issues.

1. Titles are mediocre
2. DRM is draconian and invasive.

Fix those issues, listen to your customers, and enjoy the fruits of your labor. The formula works. Companies like those listed above are living, breathing proof of that Ubisoft needs to accept that the market is what it is, but that if they create a great product, they will be rewarded. Yea, it takes some work, but most gamers aren't bad people. We pay for good stuff.

Reasons I don't buy Ubisoft games on the PC:

1. Good potential for them to be great steaming turds (Paid $60 for Far Cry 2. Never again.)

2. Shoddy wifi connection. My Wifi connection is so erratic that I can't even play online games properly, I drop connection every time someone tries to upload something. I don't want to get kicked from a single player game because one of my roomates decides to hog the router.

This times 100

I never thought AC was that good of a game personally I'd rather play skyrim or oblivion if I wanted a RPG type game.

If Ubisoft made a game worth a crap it wouldnt really be a problem to be in the PC industry.

The PROBLEM with the PC industry is we aren't mindless sheep that will buy anything you stick a label on. We do our homework. Thats why we can AFFORD to buy gaming pcs. Because we did our homework then and we do it now.

Ubisoft go sell to the lowest common denominator in the console world. We don't want your crap video games anyway. We've got publishers and developers that respect us and understand us. You obviously don't

P.S. I played the Demo for Anno 2070 and it sucked. Please go away and stop trying to combine sim city and command and conquer.

Wow, going to free 2 play, I wouldn't have expected Ubisoft to even try and compete in the PC market, seeing as they are so bad at it. Well good for them, they may be realizing that heavier DRM just loses sales, it doesn't raise them.

I still just want to see Ubisoft go out of business.
