Why use the resources and the effort for tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands to swipe a copy of your game and never compensate you for it? Doesn't matter if you bought it and just want a crack to escape DRM, or if you just want to "try it out", all they see is a torrent statistic. Pirates' intentions aren't easily communicated. All that does is strengthen their resolve to limit what they do on the PC side.
Yup tired old excuse
I am the only person who bought skyrim on PC everyone else I know pirated it, they just didnt want to pay for it. But I guess the mentality here is it must be a crap game. Why someone would want to play a crap game is beyond me. I am not defending ubisoft and dont care if they go bankrupt or not at this point (they wont as they have consoles which makes up their sales) but these reasons to pirate are a lame defense.
99% of ppl who pirate do it because it's a free game. End of story.
The "I'm demoing the game", "Can't get the game due to no stock/not available in that region", etc crowd fall into the 1%
There is virtually ZERO
justification for piracy, and ppl do it because they know they won't get prosecuted...
