Ubisoft probably voted for the Patriot Act as well.

true dat bro. marol of the story:

dont buy, you get hit in the back by a bus that has floating letters above it.

in fact, did you see how close that guy with the "pirate" letters was to being hit.

moral of teh storie

dont buy, don't pirate, don't DRM. dont do nothing. and don't drive or run across the street

Even though they didn't develop it, Ubisoft published Anno 2070, which in my opinion, is amazing.

But yes, having the mindset to believe PC users will just pirate the game is written proof that they have given up. Ghost Recon is great, but even the copies I bought on Steam run horribly, and crash all the time. Consoles are easy to code for compared for the PC. So developers give up, and go for the easy profit.

No, its actually the other way around. Pirates thoughts UBI soft deserved no respect whatsoever that they should be allowed to steal their games.

So yeah, both sides apparently know obvious things, though Ghost Recon might actually make more out of their production by having a robust multiplayer.
As far as i know, it is not possible to go online with a pirated copy by implementing traditional security methods, like keys, logins etc.

Remember A while back ubisoft was caught Pirating it's own soundtrack for AC:B?

So did Ubisoft actually take a pirated version of its own soundtrack to include as a bonus? It certainly looks that way, though the company doesn't seem to have much to say about it, telling Eurogamer simply that the situation is under investigation.

But this wouldn't be the first time that something like this happened. Back in 2008, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 users who had digital versions of the game were having issues, as the game required a disc to be playable. Ubisoft updated the game with a patch that allowed the game to be played without a disc. Problem was, that patch was actually created by pirate group Reloaded and used without attribution.

Ars has contacted Ubisoft for comment but has yet to hear back.

Funny how they cry the poor mouth and complain about piracy, but they are behind the scenes doing it themself
