I just bought one of those too. The G500 is definitely the superior product, and for only $5 more than Gigabyte's mouse, I'd call the G500 a steal at that price point. smile.gif

I bought this mouse 1 year ago (Gigabyte 6980). Didn't like the shape, but other than that it's a very good mouse. Good materials, rubberized sides (better than G500), teflon skates, switches sound like Omrons and the sensor (A6010) is much better than A9500 (G500) on cloth pad. If you play fps games alot the Gigabyte is a better option (A9500 has inconsistent positive and negative acceleration, really bad for aiming), but if you mostly play mmos then the G500 is just as good.

G400 would of been the better choice than the G500. G500 uses a laser sensor which has negative acceleration.

Actually, I consider the 6010 worse. Early 9500 mice have a higher max tracking rate and superior cursor control on cloth. Downside would be the inherit 5%~ positive acceleration flaw if you move your mouse over 30-40 IPS~

All mice listed have the same Omrons.

i'm interested at this mouse: http://www.canyon-tech.com/archive/companions/mice/CNR-MSG01. but cannot figure out which sensor does it use. looks like gigabyte GM-M6880, but it's optical and double the dpi. it must be some other mouse rebranded (canyon do this), but can't put a finger on it.

it's price is exactly half of g400 price, thats where the interest originated...

If I had to guess.

Pixart PAW3305DK or ST Microelectronics VT5366
