I was looking at corsier 4x2 @ $70 but these were $10 cheaper and already known to work well on this board.
8g ram that i wasnt expecting.

I know nobodys impressed by an amd x6 but to me... its gonna be an experience in my quest @ perfecting poverty gaming.

I can't get 8GB... it's not a multiple of 3.

Your board does not support phenom ii x6, probably due to weak vrms, you need a new board.

I am assuming he is getting a new board because he said he is going from ddr2 to ddr3. So I am going to guess he is going for a new board.

OP,
I would recommend another ASUS board, they are good. I would go with something like this for the lower end of the price range. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131646
I think you will see a huge jump in the amount of things you can do on your computer at once before you feel it slow down. WIth that amount of ram, and that CPU you will have plenty of power to do everything you want, all at once.

If you clicked the second link in his "purchased" list it is a new board: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO
