Asus P8Z68-V-PRO M/B 3.0 PORTS DO NOT WORK asus no help RMA the M/B SAME PROBLEM

Hi: my first post ever.

P8Z68-V-PRO M/B
MSI 560 GTX
i7 2600k
crucial m4 128 gig
two hard drives W/D V/R 600gig and 150 gig
8 mb g-skill 1600 memory
NH 14 Noctua cooler
6 Noctua case fans (3 140mm) (3 120mm)
windows 7 HP 64 bit
750 Watt power supply
ranger case
New build of a great many over the years.

Got the M/B setup went great. Over clocked easy to 4.4gh. No problems. Then tried 3.0 USB. Upgraded drivers from Asus. When I insert a 2.0 USB flash drive, USB 3.0 drivers uninstall ( little yellow triangles in device mgr ) If I insert a DVD when it starts loading the USB 3.0 drivers uninstall. If I restart the computer the 3.0 USB drivers uninstall. If I insert 2.0 flash drive into the USB 2.0 ports the 3.0 USB drivers uninstall. USB 2.0 ports work fine all the time.

I used device mgr and power mgr tab to uncheck power off by sys to USB hubs. USB 3.0 is enabled in BIOS Unloaded and reinstalled many times. Tried doing all the same in safe mode. No luck with anything I tried. RMAed the board to Asus. Got the new one Went thru the whole routine again. Same problem

Any ideas other then RMA the board again. Tried calling Asus second level RMA, as they call it, which means you talk to a supervisor. I was on the line a total of 3 hours and 15 min, I only talked for 30 sec before the line dropped three times, and I give up. Had to go get ready for thanksgiving.

In over 50 years I have not run into a computer problem I was unable to solve, PCs or main frames. I have now!

So if any one has any ideas I would like to hear from you.

Wow, that sucks.

I'm using an Asus P8P67 WS Revolution and my USB 3.0 ports do not have this problem. I think there is either something wrong with your board or some kind of strange conflict in your BIOS. What BIOS version are you running?

I found a solution. Went into task mgr and started turning off processes. When I turned off ( U3Boostsvr64.exe ), everything worked fine. So I then went to task scheduler in administrative tools and disabled usboostsvr64.exe. And now it all works fine. Now all I need to do is find out what that process does.

Next problem, the M/B they sent me appears to be the wrong board. I used their site to check it. The site tells me that the board sent to me is a P8Z68-V. The board I sent to them according to the serial number was a P8Z68-V-PRO. I paid 45.00 more for the one I sent back to them then the one they sent to me. I guess I will have to wait until Monday to find out about that.

Thanks for your reply

That is a USB 3.0 speed boost technology service.

Here is a bit more information from Raja @ Asus

The specific post is #930

Since they did not send you the PRO version of the board I would pitch a fit and raise hell (politely) with customer service. Be adamant that you want the correct product sent to you and since it was their mistake, be adamant that they cover shipping both ways.

Make sure the CPU fan is plugged into the correct header on the mother board, there are two M/B headers, and notice that the CPU M/B headers are 4 prong. So plug the CPU fan correctly. A three prong plug can be used, make sure it followed the guide on the M/B header.
