2 Screens, 1 Resolution

Hi OCN!

So my question for you today is about screens :O

I recently got an LG W2363D-PF (SICK monitor, and less than 200€). I used to have 2 old 17 Inch monitors that could do 1280x1024, and I had them in extended desktop mode.

So I tried to hook up my old 17 inch an the LG at the same time. At the Windows desktop, the LG was at 1080p and the 17" was at 1280x1024 - perfectly normal.

But, when I fired up a game, the LG would suddenly drop to 1280x1024 as well.

I want to be able to game with my LG at 1080p and my old 17" at 1280, without the LG having to lower its resolution.

Thoughts?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Is it all games or just one particular game?

I'd imagine its an in-game issue not a windows one. I would start by changing the resolution in game, it should stay always like that in that game then. I've had something like this happen with mine but its usually just a matter of setting it to the native res, I've never heard of this being a windows or graphics card problem.

Go to in game resolution setting and select 1920x1080. That in game setting was when the 17" as primary and now the LG is the primary.

It happens on all the games I've tested. I have the LG set for sure as my primary, but, for example, Black Ops will not let me go past 1280x1024, and when I apply a resolution it gets applied to both screens :O

did u select 16:9 for your aspect ratio?

Go to Windows Screen and Resolution then set the correct resolution and refresh rate for each monitor then extend the second monitor. If you sincerely think it's due to defect parts then RMA.

Have you tried to unplug the other monitor? Will the game let you select 1920x1080?

The game (black ops, MW2) simply won't show a 16:9 or 1080p option... I'm at a loss here :O

Why don't you go into the config file and manually change I've had to do that before I know it sucks but it might be your only option
