Best Buy employees aren't paid on commission

if he wants to believe the bestbuy guy tell him, you can build a computer with 32GB of ram for roughly the same price.

Then slap him, for buying a computer from bestbuy.

if i had the power to be anywhere at any time i would go to the guy at best buy and slap him in the face for being such a retard but sadly no special powers

main argument = 99% of PC games are 32 BIT (due to console ports), the MAXIMUM ADDRESS SPACE for 32 BIT APPLICATIONS is 4GB. I really can't stand salesman who try and pitch the "oh yeah tons of Giga Bytes!! this computer here is top of the line"

To OP

Tell your friend to buy this graphic card as he can get extra 2GB of RAM for his system with this graphic card, not to mention the extra 20Mhz overclock too thumb.gif

OK joke aside, Show him some fancy CPU and GPU package box (better if there are some sexy girls on it), maybe he will change his mind rolleyes.gif

This computer has, like, 2 thousand jiggawatts of horse-power. It's, like, so powerful, you'll, like, never upgrade again.
And, like, I know my stuff. Like, I spent 20 thousand dollars on a computer for Call of Duty. Like, yeah.

I'm fairly new here and I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, Feel free to move it if I got it wrong.
Just last week, my friends computer died (an old HP), and he hastily went to Bestbuy and purchased a new one. Disregarding my warnings to do research and possibly to just build his own computer, or have me build one for him, he ended up going with an Asus desktop, the CM1730_03. (http://www.asus.com/Desktop/Entertainment/Essentio_CM1730/#specifications).
The Bestbuy salesman apparently convinced him that CPU and GPU power are irrelevant for gaming, and the RAM is what you really need (this is where I tried to convince him that the salesman was a retard). Apparently the salesman is an "Avid gamer with a $24k computer", so he "knows more about computers than I do", according to my friend.
So my friend ended up going with this setup:
Asus CM1730_03
-AMD Athlon X2 Dual core (2.8Ghz)
-ATI 560v Graphics card (similar to the 4350) -- (I knew it sucked the second they advertise FULL 1080P VIDEO on the site, lol)
-16gb of 1333 DDR3 RAM
-1tb SATA HDD
For a grand total of ~$1k.
(Facepalm).
So, to settle our dispute and conclude our bet, as well as to hopefully convince my friend otherwise and get him to cancel his order, who was right? Is 16gb of RAM really good for gaming with the low end CPU and GPU, or should he have invested more into the hardware and less in the RAM?
Thanks,
-Dtfgator

I don't even................

My friend is going through the same thing, he wants to buy an OEM computer and hes telling me its better than mine. His is $2,000 and he has the same specs as your mates pc. I face palm my self every time he talks to me about how his OEM machine is better because it has warranty -______________________________- I tried to tell him that the parts have warranty when you build it yourself but he is so stubborn so I said don't want to listen to me you can waste $2000 and play bf3 at low settings. why he no just stay on penis3? (its a joke, i have a ps3 too)

My macbook pro runs games faster than his pc, how sad. oh well let dumbs be dumbs. He doesn't want to listen let him waste money.

Show your friend my sig rig (click my profile for a picture of it). My rig cost me around $1200 to build. I can MAX OUT any game I want at 1080p. Enough said...

What he got, is a lowly dual core with onboard graphics and a ton of generic junk RAM, that he'll never use.
