Wanted:
775 CPU quad suggestions?

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Hey all I just got my old desktop back all i'm lacking is a cpu (the E4300 in it isn't going to keep up anymore) So I'm looking for a replacement. Anyone know, or selling something? Quadcore, and yes, I plan to OC it. also a GPU might be in order as the 1950XT in it isn't the best anymore either

You should expect to pay around $90 for a q6600, or $120 for a q9350. As for a GPU, expect to pay around $50 for a decent card.

Geez. An Athlon II X4 matches or trumps those and they sell for less than 90 on here. Talk about the Apple of CPUs. PS: q9450 not 9350. Although, I'm sure Intel would have been willing to find some way to milk that.

I'm pretty sure the 9800GT will best the old ATI.

thanks for the input! if i didn't have 8gb ram, and the mobo already i would be building a whole new system, but for that i have to wait till the new year. xmas and all.... big family. so dropping in a quad and maybe a better gpu will tide me over. hell my lappy plays skyrim just fine, but i need a new power adapter anyways and they are 100$ bucks, may as well resurrect the old desktop for a little more right?

Hmmm, How about screw the quad? Just grab a plane old e8400, or e8500 and clock her up to 4.2' ish and its quite fast. Still running my e8600 at 4.5 and its plenty fast. A descent video card is helpfull though. Personally I have a 6950 2 gig overclocked to 950 full time. This combo plays everything well.
