And one more thing: quad channel ram doesn't really matter for 90% of the stuff anyone will be doing so you might be better off going with 32gb of 2133 mhz dual channel ram.

256GB of ram

you could make a 120GB ram disk and blow any SSD out of the water.

its not overkill its future proof, 10+years.

Going to make a build just because I don't feel like studying accounting and feel like procrastinating should be fun, not going to be the most serious build just a fun idea of how to drop that much cash (I realize this most likely will never be built)

Will edit shortly.
[$1060] CPU: Intel Core i7 3960X
[$450] Motherboard: Rampage IV Extreme
[$3000] GPU(s): 4 way SLI EVGA GTX 580 Classified Hydro Copper 3GB (FTW Hydro Copper 2 if oos)
[$290] Case: Corsair 800D
[$2200] SSD: 4x Intel 510 250GB
[$1200] Memory: G.Skill Ripjaw Z 64GB 8x8 1600mhz
[$90] Optical Drive: Asus BW-12B1ST
[$540] HDD: 2x Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB
[$300] Power Supply: Corsair AX 1200 (May need more watts: http://www.corsair.com/systembuild/4-way-sli-ax1200)

$9130

$900 left for cooling and since you don't need blocks I think it should suffice.

I would get a Case Labs case so you will be able to fit all the watercooling gear your going to need inside. TH10+ Pedastal should do it thumb.gif

Thread Starter
The extreme edition Does, and does not appear to be worth it, the only game i run that appears to take advantage of it's extra cache is wow, and let's face it a 3930k should do just fine so... Let's go with the list.

Cpu:3930k
Radiator:2x 4* 140mm Rads(Been doing a bit of research still unsure if that's enough ti dissipate that much heat.
Ram:Corsair XMS3 16GB C9 1600mhz Kit (Unless someone has a better suggestion, That said i have anywhere from 200 firefox tabs open, To my latest youtube video being prepared to be uploaded, Downloads in the background, music, And livestream running, ontop of one-two games + Messenger + IRC, I quite frequently reach 8GB used on my old machine)
Keyboard:Logitech G510(I always wanted one)
Power supply:Corsair AX1200*2 One for the system and 1 card, the other for the 2 other cards and drives.(Unless someone has a better suggestion)
pumps: No idea yet.
Mobo: Still havn't chosen
Audio: Still havn't chosen, I don't think i've ever gone the way of sound cards before, Are they really worth the effort?
Case: Still havn't chosen
Solid-State Drives:Undecided, But i think i'll avoid Raiding SSd's, Seems like a waste considering one is just enough, That said Revo drives and similar are still on my drawing board.
Mouse: Cyborg Rat9
Headset: Undecided as of yet.
Graphics cards: Undecided as of yet, may wait for next gen to come out.
