Yeah you can use whatever sata port on the board thats free, use the Sata power from your psu to power the drive.

Note: once you boot up, the drive will be invisible in windows until you format it first. Once you boot up you need to go to my computer, manage, then disk management, right click your new HDD and clikc format, then it will be ready to use. smile.gif

Lazlo you might want to do a quick spell check on paragraph 2 tongue.gif but yeah that second part, don't forget it. People always freak out and wonder why the drive isnt appearing.

You guys keep forgetting the initialize part! I know sometimes windows prompts you, but not all the time. rolleyes.gif

How To Initialize And Format A New Disk For Use In Windows:
  1. Install disk in your PC and boot up.
  2. Once at the desktop open the Start Menu, in the search line, type Disk Management and press Enter
  3. Right click the newly added drive under where it says
    324
  4. Now right click and select initialize
  5. Create a new dynamic or GPT disk then
  6. Create a new simple partition then format.
