Does my motherboard support UEFI?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to optimize my Crucial M4 using this guide
http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-guide-optimization-for-ssds-hdds/0_100

And I'm wondering if my sig rig motherboard actually supports UEFI? And how can I check to make sure it's enabled?
(It's a Gigabyte EP45-UD3L)

Thanks,
My System

You board doesn't support UEFI. As a thumb rule if the board wasn't shipped w/ UEFI then it doesn't support it.

/offtopic: it isn't worth the hassle to follow an SSD optimisation guide on Win7 for two reasons: a) Win7 does all the important tasks automatically and b) aside from enabling AHCI all other tweaks bring marginal/placebo improvements. Just my 2cents.

This. Your board doesn't have it, and I agree its kind of silly to "optimize" an SSD these days.

The only thing I did to mine, was manually delete my hibernation file, and I moved my pagefile to my mech drive. Oh, I also used my mech drive for my documents folders (pics, vids, and music). But I've always done that with my Green drives anyway.

OK - so in terms of speed is there any difference between NTFS or FAT32 to install Windows 7 from USB and/or onto SSD then?
Thanks,
