Windows 7 recovery ?

My laptop is in need of a clean install but I can't get the recovery to work
I do have another copy of windows If I use it will my licence key still work ? ( the one for the laptop )

Laptop is Sony VIAO VPCEB11FX
With 7premium 64bit
other disc is also 7premium 64 bit

Yes the key will work as long as it is the exact same version of windows your putting on.
