Yo sup

soooooooo upgraded my rig and said id post updates/build log... so here it is.. had my previous setup for for just over 3 years, it consisted of :

Q6600 @ 3ghz on a OCZ tower
4GB corsair xms2
BFG physix
2 x 300gb RAID STRIPED
OCZ 550 WATT PSU

was nothing amazing but did me perfectlly for WoW, SC2 and the odd bit of cs:s..but recentlly when trying to play games it was lagging behind a bit. my father recentlly passed away so i decided to upgrade my rig and get back to water cooled heaven! had to sell my last rig to pay the rent!

i didnt do a full upgrade reason being, im off travelling in april for a year and alot of the stuff ill either get cheap on travels or will be drastically cheaper with newer generations released. bearing in mind that the 2011 socket had been released i didnt wanna spend out on it just yet, its still early and although future proof, the sandy bridge seemed alot more inviting! coupled with a nice WC loop im pretty sure it will last me for a good 2/3 generations! enough jibberish heres there upgrades!

2500k
asrock extreme4 gen3 mobo
8gb crucial ballastix 2k mhz cl9
EK lucite/copper CPU block
Black ICE 240mm stealth rad
XSPC 5'25 rez
MCP655 1/2 pump
Corsiar 650D case

although its not a complete overhaul it cost a fair bit! once i got all the connectors, tubing fans, uv lights it soon tallied up! processor was most expensive with the case very close 2nd. when i looked at the advert for the case it discribed it as a midi tower, well it arrived and i can tell you now its not a midi tower its a complete beast! after transplanting my old graphics card ( ill upgrade this wen i return from travells makes sense tongue.gif ) psu hard drives here i am! 8 years since i did any serious overclocking the last water rig i had was a mad 3500+! feeling a bit clueless! currentlly sitting @ stock speed a little over 1v vcore anbd im idling @ 32/33* dont even know if this is any good as its been so long! if that was my amd i wud be peeing my pants <3

heres some pics! i need to mness around with my cam and sort out the settings because atm its not taking the best pics!

i decided to go with some reinforced clear tubing i thought the silver would give an awesome effect with the uv blue dye smile.gif

I need to do some researching on overclocking my board, i have never owned a asrock before as they used to be garbidge! but as i get this beast clocked without the 'auto' option ill post updates! biggrin.gif

Please enjoy and leave your opinions!

EDIT: im not 100% happy with the position of the pump yet i dont like it on show so expect changes soons biggrin.gif

ok so a lil update, i tried a 50x multi and it wudnt boot not even with 1.450 vcore, i dont feel safe pushing the 1.5 never have done. im currentlly folding on 4 cores + a GPU on SMP ( for OCN ofc ) and my temps are around 55* same for gaming, prime on the other hand small fft pushs it max to 62 do i have the room to push 5ghz?
