why do computer cases look so stupid? - Page 5

Alot of cases that are worth anything dont look stupid. Sounds to me like the op has an incredibly boring personality if he cant stand 1-2LED fans and wants just a plain boring box case with no side window.

Also, "too gamer"...what the hell? Are you a closet gamer or something? Do you not want your friends to think you dont play videosgames? Probably the dumbest thing ive ever read on this site.

You clearly need to build a mATX gaming rig then. biggrin.gif Pack a 590 into a cube and run with it. biggrin.gif Best plan.

I'm normally like you that I don't mind and rather use a screw driver but with the Lian Li expansion slot tool-less is just great from what I see, plus in an aluminum case the screw thread holes can't be as "durable" as in a steel case is one of my concerns down the road from changing the cards in those slots and the loosening and tightening of the screws there.  Just wonder how well those threaded holes would then hold up? smile.gif

I'm sorry, but we're not all 13 year olds here at OCN. Some of us prefer an elegant looking case, rather than a flashy "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!!!!11111" case.

I don't like them because most are noticeably less secure than using screws. This should be obvious but it always surprises me somehow how flimsy they are. There are a few exceptions, but only a few. The bigger issue to me is that most of the tool-less options are bulky and even ugly to some extent. I like a case where the hardware can blend in with the installation systems in the case, rather than the other way around, and the current market is overloaded with that sort of thing (the other way around).

You need to understand that some people have their computers next to or in the same room as their bed and don't appreciate or like nightlights. wink.gif

Don't insult members like that.

Everyone has different opinions and preferences, and a computer case is the most subjective piece of hardware in whole build. You may not understand why someone doesn't like CoolerMaster HAF series or any other brand, but calling someone "dumb" is not very appropriate.

I agree but in an aluminum case I question the long-term integrity of those threaded expansion slot screw holes.

I really dislike the hard drive tool-less in most of the cases these days.
