trust me on the frame difference. everything on high, x4 aa, x8 af, 1920x1080 i never dip below 53 fps.
frame rates are close, sometimes 1 frame more other times, 10 fps. 33 frames vs 38 frames...difference of 5 fps. thats what, 15-18% ? 48 frames vs 54 frames.... 6 fps. thats...12-14%
you do realize those arent real numbers on that AvP benchmark dont you ? its theoretical. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/295?vs=291 according to this, under load, the 6850 runs hotter and is quieter. crank the fan to keep the temps the same and the quiet factor goes out the window. the 5850's run neck and neck with 6870 according to most benchmarks and reviews.
point being, benchmarks mean nothing especially when they run stock settings and barely anyone who cares about performance will run stock single cards.
power hungry ? 24 watt max difference. that isnt a power hog. the gtx cards are power hogs.
a corsair tx850 is more than enough to run crossfire cards fully overclocked with a heavily overclocked cpu.
5850's can be picked up for $100 used. i skipped over a 6850 for $100 as soon as i saw my black edition 5850.
did i mention how well they overclock ?
all i asked was if you could get your memory clocked higher because i score so much higher than you. such close performing cards is why i asked.
tongue.gif yes im not arguing just talking thumb.gif

Lol I wasn't arguing but you sure are... why so up in arms?

I admitted you have a better card so if this is some sort of pissing contest, you win... lmao.

Anyway - I also said benches don't mean anything more or less in my post, correct? Stop looking for things to argue about.

I like my card, I like what I paid for it, I esp like the crossfire performance.

I think you're trying to say your card is between 3% and 18% better than mine in all that mess you made of my thread above - Cool!

I could go on about how the link you provide doesn't really make your argument any better - but seeing as though you admit you're PC-Illiterate in your username - 'Nuff said.

I own a 1090t and at stock it is awful to stream on can't even stream league of legends at 1080p without my fps dropping to 25-35ish when I oc to 4.0ghz I get 45-50 fps but its still choppy as hell. This is personal experience. Pm me and I'll do a private stream for you to show you what it looks like streaming. I do use xsplit.

Also, where the hell did GTX cards come into this argument? Screw Nvidia.

I stream SC2 on ultra using my 4 core 960T all day long without any lag to speak of... I use Xsplit on max settings.

Here's a tip - if you're lagging - it's not necessarily your hardware's fault - unless it's FPS causing you to lag. Make sure you're streaming WELL below your max upload.

My max upload, in theory, is 2400Kbps but there is NO WAY you will maintain what some internet speed meter tells you for a sustained period of streaming to a server.

I stream at 1900Kbps to avoid stutter.

Here is a link to one of my streams recently.

http://www.twitch.tv/fromundachz/b/302338147

This is with the following clocks on a 4 core 960t.

CPU = 4000MHz @ 1.34375 vCore
MULTI = 16.0x
NB = 3000MHz CPU/NB @ 1.28125 V
RAM = 1666MHz @ 1.55 V
FSB = 250 @ NB = 1.15 V
HT = 2000MHz

Assuming you don't consider that "terrible" you might want to look into other possible causes for your lag. I know SC2 is more taxing on your PC than LoL is, and I was streaming at highest possible settings on Xsplit and Sc2. Note I am streaming 1440*900 (16:10) which is my native resolution - but that's pretty damn close to 1080P and that difference in resolution isn't going to make or break my stream - I know this because I can stream at 1600*1280 on a Tri-Core Athlon II Oc'd to 3.5 GHz and my 960T is immensely more powerful.

Maybe I can help you out some with your stream? With your system specs and two more cores than me, you should have no issues streaming with excellent results... When you OC your CPU are you also overclocking your NB and memory? I saw more of an improvement in streaming overclocking my NB than I did my CPU.

I'm especially concerned that I streamed without issue using my Athlon II x3 and your 1090t can't handle it. Something else is going on here....

Help would be appreciated I have 2 locations I stream from 1 at 35mbps up and the other at mbps up with speed tests. Set to upload at 4000 kpbs I believe on the 35mbps connection and icr on the other. My lag is when I am running the game like I can see and feel it stuttering w/ the 4.0ghz oc it's not terrible and after just restreaming I see @stock I get 35-50fps and at 4.0ghz it's @45-59 it's at stock that it bothers me I can't stand 35fps in game

Fresh install of win7 seems to have increased it at least that's the only reason why I think I am getting better fps now. On my old saved streams it's very different.

I also oc-d the NB and that seemed to help all this between the two one of em worked. Thanks +rep for help.

I don't buy used/refurb.. so I searched google since Newegg doesn't sell them anymore. I got $250 on average.

Just give it up man, I'm not even trying to argue with you, I am trying to help some people out.

Give it up? That was my first post in your entire thread. I hope you realize that.

If you got $250 on average you must be looking on some crazy specialty overpriced crap sites. No one in their right mind would pay $250. Just wait until the 6850's are hard to find brand new .. you'll see the same thing with them. A 5850 will be priced anywhere from $100 - $130 currently. That includes both used and new, assuming you find them on normal sites.

Let me start by providing a screenshot of my stream settings.

I would suggest streaming at 25 FPS or under - Even blu-ray movies are recorded in 24 FPS and that's what I stream at - less frames to encode will make better FPS for you in game.

I streamed at 15 FPS on my Athlon II x3 with a Radeon 4550 and got: http://www.twitch.tv/fromundachz/b/294955089

24 FPS you saw on the link above with my new setup. Again that was 1440*900 Resolution.

General Settings:
375

Stream Settings:
375

Try those settings (as close as you can get to them) and see what happens... it it works out, try raising things from there.

You might try something like a 2000kbps stream (I know you can go higher because of bandwidth but we need to troubleshoot) at 9 or 10 quality - set the audio to about 128kbps. Set the resolution to 1280*720 for now. Set the FPS to 24 for now, not much need to go higher than 24 or 25 for a stream.

Let me know how it goes.

I shop on Newegg.com and Amazon.com.

I buy what's in stock.

I'm saying give up whatever it is you're trying to prove.. I believe you - your card gets 1 to 15 more FPS than mine depending on the resolution and an array of other factors - it costs about the same as mine - you can't fine a new one for the price you say you can - it uses slightly more power, and yields slightly better results, for roughly the same price. GOTCHA - are we done here?

*EDIT - Also, my apologies because I thought you were somebody else. If you look on google for a new one, you probably won't find one around $140 which is what I paid for my 6850.

http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-100282XTREME/dp/B004W75ATI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324099513&sr=8-1 Same card as mine but the 5850, on the only site I could fine a new one on - for under $280 anyway.

All I'm getting at is I couldn't find a new one near $140.. I'd even pay $160 for the performance difference but I couldn't find one new... So at $80 price difference I guess I'm just looking for a BM that shows a 35% or so improvement over the 5850 for the 35% or so more I'd have to pay for the peace of mind of a NEW card.
