I'm saying give up whatever it is you're trying to prove.. I believe you - your card gets 1 to 15 more FPS than mine depending on the resolution and an array of other factors - it costs about the same as mine - you can't fine a new one for the price you say you can - it uses slightly more power, and yields slightly better results, for roughly the same price. GOTCHA - are we done here?

I don't have a 5850. I am simply saying the $5850 is not $250, as I originally posted - so please don't try to turn it into a argument. /end discussion.

I am not the same guy that was arguing with you earlier

PS: Bought one of my GTX 460's for $120. BRAND NEW (if you were referring to my actual card(s))

Like I said before, thought you were the other guy...

The card is not $250 new, it's $210, correction.

I wasn't talking about your cards, no - I was talking to the guy arguing about what, I don't know.

Anyway I'd like to keep this thread on track, about processors and overclocking them - hence why I was trying to stop all this GPU nonsense to begin with.

Not bad... I'm not lagging far behind an i7 860 - Which goes for about $300 - I paid $115 for mine!
Anything else anyone wants to see let me know and I'll give it a run..

Not bad at all... I wonder why I'm getting beat at my 4.15GHz?

Maybe your extra 4 GB of memory? Mine is running faster though so I'm not sure that would be the reason for it..

Anyway great job! Awesome voltage on that CPU too.. at 4GHz I can do 1.34vCore but to get 4.15 I have to juice her up to 1.42vCore.

I'll rerun the bench when I get my 8gb kit in but you might still beat me - I have a feeling that your Sniper memory has tighter timings than mine.. I'm running at 9-9-9-24 at both stock clocks, 1666MHz for my 4GHz/3000NB OC and at 1733MHz for my 4.15GHz/3100NB OC.

Also could be something I have running in the background, different drivers, antivirus, etc etc I suppose.

How do ya like the three hundred? I always thought it was roomy compared to my m59. Oh, i didn't change that i'm jushing 1600 with a dual channel mix of corasir and gskill.

2 Corsair 2gb sticks 1600 9-9-9-24.

i wasnt arguing with you or even trying to. i was trying to figure out how you overclocked your 6850 AND your 960t higher than i did and arent getting close to my score.
higher clocked cpu, higher clocked nb, higher clocked gpu. you score so much better in the cpu tests.
fine, no more posting your thread. glad youre happy with your set-up.

I was wondering the same thing dude..

My last run was:

http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3733612

3DMark Score
15581 3DMarks
Graphics Score
16144
CPU Score
14103
Jane Nash
48.06 FPS
New Calico
46.5 FPS
AI Test
1847 operations/s
Physics Test
21 operations/s

My CPU @ 4.15 gets "14103" yours gets "13551"

I'd say that's no surprise there.

My AI Test
1847 operations/s

Yours:
1752 operations/s

No surprise there, this relies on CPU.

We both get 21 on the physics test, CPU here.

My graphics score, from the 6850 is: 16144

Your 5850, the superior card, gets: 19875

This is why you have such a higher overall score.

I will rerun the test when I get a new power supply as well.. my 550W is being stressed to the max right now and I wouldn't doubt that my components may be a bit underpowered right now.. it passes stress testing just fine but I'm sure once all of the components are loaded down at once, they would be happier with a little more amperage available.

Looking at the detailed scores tells the story of the differences in our scores.

Also, according to the BM: http://3dmark.com/healthcheck/3dmv/3733612

I'm well above the expected scores so I'd say everything is within line and makes sense..

The 300 isn't bad, it's very spacious for the cost and has massive airflow as well for its price range.

They also mod nicely - I wish they came with the inside painted black but it's not hard to do yourself if you're that picky. I like the look of them with custom side windows.

The case temps stay very nice.

The cable management could be a lot better but if you look at my pics you'll see that it's manageable with a little time and effort.. I'd say I didn't do half bad for what I had available to me. Just tied the extra cables back behind the HD try with bread ties.

I want to look into something a little bit bigger because I want something with cable management out the ass - we'll see what time brings.
