Ubuntu 10.04 LTS File Permissions?

Thread Starter
I'm following this guide here http://bernaerts.dyndns.org/linux/59-ubuntu-xbmc
and it's working out great for installing XBMC on my Acer Aspire R1600.

The only problem is with the section labeled "Remote movies collection (NFS & Automount)"
(third from the bottom)

I can't seem to be able to change the permissions in order to edit and save the /etc/auto.master file for AutoFS.
Is there any way around it?

Thanks!

You don't want to be changing the permissions of that file. Instead, do the following:

on the terminal type the following:
Code:
sudo nano /etc/auto.master
make the changes and then press [ctrl]+o to save then [ctrl]+x to exit
