Z68 UD7 not taking XMP ram speeds

Thread Starter
So I Tried getting my UD7 to take the 1600 Corsair ram that I bought, but it keeps saying OC failed. Then restores the ram speed to 1330 9-9-9-24.

Ram model: CMP4GX3M2C1600C7

I ran memtest86 for 5 cycles on all four sticks individually, then two cycles on all four sticks at once with no errors. Granted the speed was at 1330 and not 1600 cause it doesn't work, or let me boot with it.

My voltages were set at 1.65 and VTT at 1.15, but I didn't find VCCIO anywhere in the bios to see if it also was at 1.15. I

Anyone see any reviews that had any problems with this ram?

Should I use touch Bios instead?

I'm guessing motherboard compatibility issues. Did you check if this memory is in your motherboard compatibility list?

Ahhh snap, it isn't in the compatability list. What are my solutions other than buying compatible ram?

Try doing one of the below.

1. Set it to 1333mhz with same timings and voltage
2. Loosen up timings ( 1600@9-9-9-24-2T or 8-8-8-21-2T - whichever works)
3. Set the memory voltage to 1.66~1.67v stock speed and timings

Look on my sig rig, I had to bump the memory voltage just to be able to run at rated speed.

I'd like it to run at 1600, so I'll see if I can bump the voltage up a bit. Though I don't really like doing that as the IMC with 4 sticks might start having trouble on the 2600k... unless I've mis understood something when reading about ram.
