The UPS I have I bought on eBay new for a steal, only $403.99 & $42.50 shipping. The cheapest anywhere else online at the time was about $1,100 shipped. Right now Amazon has this same model for $800 + $39.99 shipping. The UPS I have is an online UPS which always runs off the battery. This provides better protection against voltage fluctuations, but this model isn't really intended for consumer/home use. One drawback of an online UPS is poor power efficiency. My model only achieves about 87% or 88% under 60% load which is what I was seeing last night while in a game. The game wasn't the most intensive so I'll have to see what my power consumption is with Battlefield 3 in 2560x1600 resolution on Ultra or with Intel Burn Test & FurMark or some combination of stress testing software.
Probably will be able to tweak timings a bit. My mushkin DDR3 2133 MHz kit is running at the rated timings of 9-11-10-28 with a command rate of 2 as recommended by mushkin. My previous Core 2 Duo e8400 system had a mushkin DDR2 800 MHz kit that overclocked very well to 1066 MHz and beyond. The memory won't really make that much of a difference in real world performance when it comes to frame rates and what not. I'd like to get my CPU running at 4.8 GHz this weekend or next week sometime and my Crossfire HD6970s at 950-1000 MHz / 1450-1500 MHz..
Not sure I'll be able to get to the upper end with my HD6970s running in Crossfire though. Overclockersclub.com was able to achieve 986 MHz / 1502 MHz on an ASUS HD6970 which is the same as one of the cards I have in this review
. It's very possible I'll be able to get the lower end of my range, but not sure about the upper end. Maybe if I push enough voltage, but I don't want to fry my video card. The last three video cards I've had have all died, but they've also all been NVIDIA cards. The HD79x0 series should be out soon enough. If I do happen to push one too far and it dies I can always sell my other card, or put it in my Core 2 Duo system, and upgrade to that. Edited by Improvidus - 12/7/11 at 8:54am
