TY Sir!

Those are Bitfenix Extensions but I plan on getting custom length cables done to cut down on wire clutter and just a cleaner look.

Ah I see, right on! I'm waiting for my tools, wiring and sleeving to arrive - cutting it down myself this go around. This is why I asked! smile.gif

Two screws are hidden under the top I/O cover. The one on the bottom left (our view) fits perfectly underneath but the other is a nasty washer "clinging" onto the side of the cutout where the IO panel cables are running.

That's really cool! thumb.gif

Could you let me know the measurement between the PSU and the MB? It would be great if you can take photos of the top without the top I/O panel and the clearance between the PSU and the MB/CPU cooler. Thanks!

Yes this would be awesome if the block of the h60/h80 was to fit without mods of some sort would be a awesome. thumb.gif

Bitfenix extensions here as well. smile.gif

Fortunately I got modular PSU. With standard, there would be no change to fit those cables. There are already ssd-rack and aquaero.

Looks nice and clean i love it.

I need to loop my power cable the same way but first i need to open up my PSU and see if its possible to flip the power input socket.

Testing the FT03 with a GPU that dumps heat back into the case: featuring the EVGA GTX 780 Classified

The following is to help one with matching a GPU with the FT03, and provides some insight as to what they can expect in terms of temperatures and overclocking. I decided to test how far I could overclock my GTX 780 before temps became an issue and the GPU throttled down.

I personally did not want temps to exceed 80 degrees. I set the Power target to 105%, Temp target to 84 degrees, the fan on the GPU set to 63% and left the voltages on stock. All tests were done on Valley at 1440p. Here is what I found.

1. Having the FT03 side panel ON raises the temp of the GPU by 10 degrees. This severely limits the overclock potential of the GPU since the card will throttle down the clock speed to reduce the temps.

2. The VRM temps increase by 7 degrees with the side panel ON.

3. To use a GPU that dumps heat into the case, it's imperative you have some vents in the side panel / window to allow this heat to escape. The grills/vents should be directly where the GPU is.

4.I've seen some folks cut out vents near the CPU heatsink and PSU. This makes no difference. With decent airflow there is no heat build up in these areas. You can test this yourself by placing your hand in these zones. The only vents required are directly opposite the GPU.

5. At 1241 Mhz on the GPU (stock 993 Mhz) the temps on the GPU remain 77 degrees on full load, with the side panel OFF. Putting the panel ON would cause the temps to exceed 84 degrees and the GPU to throttle down.

In conclusion, it's advisable to cut out some vents in the side panel if you want to reduce the temps of the GPU by up to 10 degrees. These vents need to be placed directly opposite the GPU. You can use a blower style card but these cards reach 80 degrees on stock alone. I do not think the reference coolers can reach more than 1.2GHz on the GPU core at less than 80 degrees.

Here's the full results:

Hope this helps. thumb.gif

I've always wondered, do the direction of the fins on the aftermarket gpu coolers in relevance to which way there mounted directly impact there cooling potential.

For example your gpu is mounted vertically but your classifieds fins face horizontal. Compared to say a asus dcu2 where the fins would be going vertically with your case, which I though would have more of a tendency to blow air more bottom to top of an ft03 because of the gpu and case orientation? Where as a classified acx or lightning cards fin orientation would blow the heat more front and back rather bottom to top?

My apologies for my terrible phone sketch

I find a new case I want every week, and this seems to meet my storage and size needs. I may have to build sooner that I thought, given my computer won't boot. Does anybody in this club actually have the three 3.5 HDD and one SSD configuration setup? How are temps and noise with this case, and say a liquid cooler?
