[Official] Silverstone FT03 & FT03 Mini Owners Club - Page 161

Hello everybody.

I will be joining the club in the next few months so I wanted to ask you guys for some tips.

Currently, I own FT02S and its size began to cause problems smile.gif
FT02S seems like a perfect case for me but Silverstone cases, especially silver ones) are very hard to find in Croatia. (Went through major PITA to get the FT02S) biggrin.gif
So, I can order FT02S from Germany but it beats me will all of my hardware fit inside.

Currently, I am running:

i5 2500k with AC Freezer Pro 13
Z68X-UD3H-B3
GTX660 Windforce
4x4 GB G.Skill Sniper 12800
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 600W Modular
2x 2.5" SSD
2x 3.5" HDD
Slim DVD/RW

I am in doubt.
Should I sell my CPU and MBO to get Z87MX-D3H and i7 4770 or just get a Z68 mATX MBO?
It should be Hackintosh compatible like it is now, and Z68 motherboards are getting rare nowadays.
Selling FT02S is getting pretty hard, so until I sell it, I'm stuck without FT03.

Let's say I switch to Haswell.
Which cooler to get? Any particular one you would recommend? I prefer my rig silent, no overclocking would be neccessary. Water cooling is not an option.

Welcome! Hope you have good luck selling your case!

As to air cooling Noctua is always a good option, I know you said water cooling
Is not an option but have you considered something like the corsair H80i?
As it is an all in one unit and very cost effective....

Hope to see you in an ft03 soon!

The Asus vi impact is 100% hackintosh compatible, I have one and run windows 8.1 and the latest mavericks

Thanks!

All the big push-pull Noctuas would fit inside?

I'm oldschool, so it's impossible for me to even think about mixing water and electronics biggrin.gif

Asus VI Impact is ITX, and I'm looking for mATX motherboard

Asus vi gene is decent for mATX
And you can fit a Noctua d14
Found a guy using one with what looks like no mods to his case.
Only thing is the top fan would need to be on the top not on the inside...
Here is a photo of his rig

best cpu cooler for ft03 thread

A few other coolers are mentioned in his thread....

My cables arrived! biggrin.gif

How do you guys feel about adding Mayhems White coolant to this? smile.gif The build has peanut butter-chocolate look to it, lol. (The motherboard is a dark brown color).

I'll probably place black tape over the red bulb inside the gtx 780 wb to get rid of the red glow as well.

And yes...still gotta get that plexi flooring made, lol.

That is actually my old rig. The D-14 fits without any problems. You don't have install the exhaust fan outside the case but I chose to do so to help pull air from my GPU (GTX 470 with top down cooler).

Hey guys!

I'm new here and this is my FT03 called "Royal Red". The modding is in progress e.g. a window in the sidepanel. Will post pictures when it's done.

Greetings from Germany smile.gif

I can't decide between black, silver and titanium FT03.

Silver was my first choice because I already have silver FT02. Dust and fingerprints are invisible and that's why I love cases in silver. White LED botton fan and that's it.

The more I look at the black version, more I love it. It fits in the workspace perfectly. Everything else is black, and if I put a red LED bottom fan, colors match even my Sidewinder X6 keyboard.

Then, I found titanium one and I love it because it's unique and stands out.

I can get all three with noise insulation already fitted. Does anyone know would it influence temperature a lot?
