upgrading to a smart phone - Page 3

Couple of things:

A) Battery life. Smartphones zap batteries quick. Especially when doing surfing on a mobile carriers' network as opposed to wifi b/g/n. For my EVO4g I got a 2600mah extended battery so I can actually use my phone all day long.

B). I don't know where you live...but FYI, 4g data service does not exist in lots of places. Check coverage to avoid disappointment. Also 4g kills battery faster than 3g.

C). Look for phones with Gorilla Glass screens, they are much harder to scratch. I am on Sprint, and pay for phone insurance and it will cover replacing the glass for free...no issues with the policy and a used phone.

D). Sounds stupid, but don't drop your phone. If you get a holster, get one that has the screen facing inwards when holstered.

E) Most recent model HTC handsets should have gorilla glass, a la evo 4g, evo 3d, etc. I love my evo 4G.

F). Research if Verizon charges data roaming etc. Lots of pitfalls that can kill your cell bill.

thanks for rude comment telling me to buy a case. if i was THAT retarded i wouldnt know how to post on a forum or use a computer so why would i buy a phone with the line of work i do and not buy something to protect it...?
from your last post i doubt you are well liked in your real life hence why you are rude for no reason to me on the internet when all i was trying to do is get suggestions on phones.

I am sorry if I sounded rude, I was not trying to, but they test the iphone with out a case and without a screen protector in most of those drop tests, so of course it's going to break. And if you need a tough phone then you shouldn't go with the iphone. I would wait and see if you like the Nexus, and play with it in a Verizon Store.
