[Question] ordering RAM w/ different memory timings

Thread Starter
Hello,
As you can see in my sig - my memory timings are 7-7-7-24.
Today I went to the store to buy 2x4gb of the same ram sticks but I wasnt sure what were my timings and I ordered 9-9-9-24 by accident.
*Is it possible that before I OCed my MB RAM and CPU, my RAM timings were 9-9-9-24, and after I OCed they changed?
*Will it work if the timings are different and will the change be dramatic (gaming)?

I'm asking that because tomorrow I will go to get the sticks and I think I can cancel it as long as I dont take it (but I'm not sure they got 7-7-7-24 anymore, so If they dont and someone says that it will work [but at the higher timings] so I wont have any other choice but to take it because I cant get 8gb - thats too much money)

**Note: I dont understand much about memory timings.**

If its not too much to ask - ask me as much questions for more info, or give as much info as you can because I'm going to sleep now and tomorrow I have 5-10min before I got to go school, so I want to provide all needed info to get the answer till I get home.

Thanks in advance.
Sorry I if asked for too much, I dont socialize much.

Mixing timings is not a good idea at all. I would set your current memory to the same timings as the new memory, before installing the new memory to give you some chance if it working. If you can, send them back unopened.

your timings shouldn't change if you OC the CPU. thats different if you OC'd the ram but it seem like you didn't do that.

in this case. just set both to CAS 9 (thats the first timing). you shouldnt see a difference anyways.

edit: i didn't notice but you have two sets at different timings AND densities. Not sure if they'll play nice with each other.

if you're worried, just send them back. 4gb is good enough for gaming.
