If people can justify even $500 or $1000 for a Core i7 i see no problem with this being 1.5K.

3930K will be in the classified section the day these are released. I don't even care if i won't even utilize all 8 cores. I just want it for the E Peen and so i can be cool like BD owners.

Intel slides say $1100 for the entry-level 8-core E5-2650. I wonder if these can over clock.

E5-2650 will have a 20X multi. Using the 1.67 strap it will overclock to 3.3Ghz.

How in the world are people going to afford all of this? $300+ for the mobo, $50-$100 for the cooler, and god forbid $600-$2000 for the cpu if you want a SUPER HIGH END ONE.

I mean yeah I can understand it's super fast and nothing can beat it but I mean it gets to be a point in most applications and games (crysis 2, metro 2033, battlefield bad company 2, battlefield 3) that it gets to be a point where the CPU doesn't really make as much as a difference vs overclocking or getting a better video card.

Man how do these kids (people who are younger than me I am 20) afford all of this? They probably don't work and there parents are rich and get it for there spoiled butts. :/

And from difficulty people have been having with the 1.67x multiplier, most will probably be limited to 1.25x, which is going to be a pretty limited OC, even if the turbo multipliers can be used.

Most people, at least most who aren't fools, aren't going to be buying 8-core Xeons primarily for gaming.

As for how people afford it, well there are a variety of incomes and a variety of priorities when it comes to purchase decisions. Personally, I'd never spend as much on a car as I do on my computers.
