5Ghz Stable with all power saving modes enabled at 1.44v

517Hi, I'm pretty new to the overclocking community since this is the first computer i built with an unlocked cpu. Right now my computer runs fine at 5014.8mhz. If I bump the clock to 51 it wont boot, 52 it boots but above a 50% load it will blue screen with the124 error.
These are the settings i am running now and its extremely stable.

BCLk/DMI/PEg Disabled
Mutli line disabled
VCORE 1.65v
VTT 1.20v
System .955v
DRAM 1.65v

Also when I restart my computer even not overclocked it restarts about 4 times after it posts before booting to windows even on a cold boot and the touch bios splash screen takes 60 seconds to go away, is this normal?

Case: Thermaltake V4 Black Edition
Motherboard: z68XP-UD3
Power Supply: Diablotek 500 watt
Processor: I7 2600k overclocked 5ghz
Water Cooler: Corsair H60 Fans: 3 120mm, 2 80mm
Ram: Microcenter Brand (4) 4gbs sticks 16GB total
Video Card: EN8400GS Silent
Optical Drives: 4 DVDR+DL Burners
Hard Drives: (6) 2TB Seagates, (4) 3.0TB Seagates in Raid for a total of 10.9TB

wow.... i think your Vcore is way way way too high. I would tone it down to about 1.35 for 24/7
post #3 of 24
you sure vcore is @ 1.65?

please fill in your rigbuilder thingy so i can see what your hardware is.. (what is your cooling? 1.65v are benching voltages)

sandy bridge chips have mghz/multi walls.. meaning depending on how good your chip is.. it won't go higher at a certain point no matter how many volts you put through it

124 error means that you need to bump up your Vcore. I really don't think you should have your V core that high, but it's your own personal choice.

You can decrease the post flashing over and over again by going into you bios and turning off Marvell sata ports
For the asus splash screen you can go in to you bios to either turn down the time from 60 sec to 10 sec or turn it off completely

error 124 is for your vCCSA..in other words your IMC voltage..bump it a notch up or 2..

Wow, that is a killer voltage! I was very nervous while putting just 1.57V through my 2600K to see what it can do ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNdRO3sBVAg ), otherwise I had it just at 1.4V and 4.8 GHz.

My current 2500K is at 1.36V and 4.6 GHz (1.6 most of the time)

Comfortable zone is up to 1.4
1.4-1.5 is yellow zone, in which you need to cool the CPU well with water
above 1.5 is red zone, for short term benchmarking od validation purposes, NEVER TO USE FOR 24/7 OPERATION!!!

Since you are new to overclocking, you should be very carefull and not put such insane volts through your poor CPU! You are killing it! You have to respect what your CPU can do at some rational voltage! You cannot push it so hard!

if you aren't benching i highly recommend turning down your vcore by alot.

usually most 2600k will reach 5ghz from 1.48-1.51v

better chips will be lower.. 124 can be to much vcore (most likely in this case) or qpi/vtt on your giga

really dial it down a bit smile.gif (your h60 can't handle those voltages anyways.. i wonder what your temps are)
