I'm got the Corsair AX1200 and I am going to sleeve it black because its a neutral color biggrin.gif I really wanted to use your sleeve method but all my supplies are setup for normal sleeving redface.gif I am going to use your method when my extra cables come in.

If i was to the MDPC/FTW sleeve for this method, would it work correctly?

I used MDPC sleeve in this guide so you can defiantly get the same result (hopefully even better). I'm not sure about FTW though, I've never used their sleeve so I can't be certain it will work. Have fun with the sleeving smile.gif

What size pins are the regular 12v Molex connectors? I'n trying to get some female molex pins since I don't want to reuse the ones I take out of my 12v connectors. Plus I'll have some backups just incase I ruin one or something.

http://www.mcmaster.com/#pin-and-socket-connectors/=gbwxdu
either they're 0.093", 0.084" or 0.062" but I'm not sure which. Does anyone know what AWG wire they're for? I use Mcmaster allllllllllllll the time so hopefully I can get these sockets from mcmaster.

Thanks

They're 18 AWG wire, if that helps. I asked this same question not too long ago, but I didn't get an answer. I'll be watching closely to see if you do. In my eyes (as bad as they may be), they appear to be 0.093", but I could be wrong.

The "regular Molex" pins aren't made by Molex anymore but Tyco still does a compatible line. Look for parts number 60619 and 60620. McMaster won't sell them.

You got several answers, just maybe it wasn't clear or maybe not the answers you wanted. I mentioned the Molex MiniFit Jr range in my reply to you, and you can see there the pins for 16 and 18AWG are both the same pitch: 4.2mm.

You can try any number of similar sized pins from Fry's or some local store, but they won't be the same and likely they'll be too tight or loose in the housing, and certainly won't mate with the pins on the motherboard and GPU. Our answers before were just trying to save you time and hassle smile.gif

I stand corrected, and apologize.

After doing some additional research, the Molex 1490-PRT plug/pins (0.093") appear to be the most likely candidate, but I can't find any solid evidence one way or another. The pins look right, but that doesn't mean much.

In the meantime, I have opted to just buy mine from FrozenCPU

Well I found out the 0.093" pins on mcmaster's site are the round 4-pin molex pins, not the square ATX12V pins like I wanted. The 0.062" aren't the right ones either, they're just smaller, makes sense...

Oh well...just wasted $12 on ordering the two...fail doh.gif

On another note, how many feet do you guys generally go through to sleeve a PSU? I plan on sleeving almost all of the 24pin connector but I don't think I'll have enough sleeving... So I might tone it down to maybe 6-12" of sleeving on the 24pin, that way I'll only end up using ~20ft or so of sleeving. Then the rest I can use for normal 12v lines and other wires...

I think I've got something around 70ft of sleeving...Sound like enough?
