It is his choice to do what he wishes. I pointed out quite a few things as did others. Most notably his argument that a Phenom II quad tops out at 3.4Ghz, because going further diminishes returns.

But I suppose no one read my posts just a few back here. The bottom line is that BF3 is GPU bound, not CPU bound.

I noticed a difference with my old set of 5770's when I moved from an OC'd 945 to my 2500K. FPS went up and things were smoother.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do here. BF3 was Cpu bound on my setup. I posted my experience and independent charts to match. You can disagree, but please stop asserting that BF3 is not CPU bound. At the very least, it's debatable whether it is or not. Many people posting in here have backed up my experience. Many have disputed it. But VERY few have disputed it that have actually tested what I claimed in the thread title. I have oc'd my 2600k as high as 4.8ghz and my minimum frames have climbed as I went from 4.0-4.8.

hey guys i got news about the cpu usage,i changed my overclock i raised the v core and now its stable as hell but this isnt my point.

my point is that now that i got a more stable overclock and i see no micro shuttering as i did before and now i also got lower cpu usage.

The maximum i have seen is 74% when i am at an action scene with many opponents[single player].

it usually is at 60-70% usage and if i turn off full screen it goes to about 55% again its a little big but it never goes more than 74%...

i hope this helps some guys here.

i will also try to lower my cpu common performance level [if i can be stable by doing this] and that means my cpu will be faster and i hope to see and less usage.

Solved my problem..
Boxed my 955..installed 1100 with antec 920. At stock, gpu usage at 91%. Considering bf3 got patched up, the game just went smooth but still my gpu still same usage when I was with 955 last night.
But now with 1100, all ultra (No AA)1080p lowest fps I saw was 57 and it plays now 60-70 max out at 80-90. Now I can do this...smile.gifthumb.gif

May try to OC later and btw just got a new problem since GPU usage is high now, it's hot now. Need additional case fan. rolleyes.gif

Thanks all

Congrats bro; that thing is a beast! Now head over to the Amd forum and get that thing running at 4ghz! tongue.gif

*Also, water-cooling will solve your gpu heat problem. Ready for that project? biggrin.gif

amd and intel are having issue !dont ask me what i dont know!
on intel side in some test core parking need to be disabled for best result how much better oh around 40 % better
this is for intel for amd no luck it doesnt look like it affect amd (core parking)
but even then too many other benchmark are within margin of error so you get say 50 fps on intel and you get 48 fps on amd
one test this can happen but the huge number of test this happen now ?impossible so yes there is a bottleneck that affect both intel and amd the question is what.i begin to suspect that the cpu memory controller are probably the culprit might need to either add memory controller or find ways to do something cause it is the only thing i can see that could limit or be capped .how you test memory controller max capacity tho ? that is a good question!

My 955 and 260 gets anywhere from 30-60 fps (32-45 fps average) on all ultra 2x aa/af. I don't see why everyone is crying that the game doesn't run well for them. I'm happy as can be getting that kind of performance on my rig.
