I think that people are comparing this Black Friday/Cyber Monday to other years. In the past there has been some amazing deals from Newegg.
But yeah...Black Friday is a scam for the most part for brick and mortar stores. A store will have a few things at amazing deals, but if you aren't in the first 50 people in the store you don't get them. The rest of their prices will be no different than any other "sale" which in its self is a scam as well since the "sale" prices we see most of time were the price they would expect people to pay any day of the week. Here in the US I think JC Penny is the worst at this. Every weekend they have 20-50% off stuff all of the store, but you can go in a Tuesday and get the same price. They just put the higher price on the tag to make you think you save a ton a money. My wife used to always brag about the line the receipt that said how much money she saved until I finally got her to understand she didn't save anything as they never intended to sell the stuff for the "regular" price
