how does this look the board supports core unlocking from what ive found so there is a good chance it will unlock, would it be a worthwhile upgrade over what I have now though? Id also be buying 2x4gb kit of DDR3 1333 to go with it. Id be pairing it with my current stuff and a new SSD that arrives friday

or would i do better to upgrade the GPU

You would do better to upgrade your GPU (possibly grab a cheap SLI motherboard and go SLI 465's, it makes a great combo although a bit warmish) and think about overclocking that C2Q - honestly C2Q's are just as fast as Phenom II X4's so it would be a slight downgrade going the AMD route.

hmm well instead of managed to within my budget score a P67 board, i3 2120, and 8gb DDR3 ill be on the stock cooler but that wont hurt since i cant OC lol. I'll save up some cash and sell my 775 stuff and buy a better GPU lol
