Qpi / Vcore Voltage Question.

Thread Starter
Hey there seeking some advice and knowledge. Im starting to understand alot better on the oc factor but still struggling on ram voltage etc.
Today's question is can i lower my qpi voltage or leave as is when i set it to auto bios puts it to 1.375 and runs fine just wanted to know if i could lower it. Currently have my Qpi set 1.375 voltage and running 12gb corsair vengeance @ 1603mhz 9-9-9-24.

Also was wondering if my vcore seems about right i7 950 4.0 200x20 @ 1.33 vcore ran prim95 for 8 hours and all was well. idle - 37-42 load - 65-70
Also is will having my vcore around 1.33 still give me lifespan of about 2 years on it?

specs:

i7 950 4.0 1.33vcore 200 x 20
2x sli 560 ti's 900/1800/2100 1.05
asus x58 sabertooth
corsair vengeance 12gb 1600

If you raise the multi up to 24, you can keep the bclk down. My QPI is about 1.3v and has been for over a year now, with no issues. I read in a guide some time ago that your QPI voltage should be within .5v of your RAM voltage (my RAM voltage is 1.5), so I haven't tried to lower QPI. Also, I have my RAM voltage set to auto. With DDR2 RAM, most boards would under volt high performance memory, but my board is running my RAM at the manufacturer's rated voltage (1.5v).

And your proc will last a lot longer than two years (my i7 950 has been OC'd 24/7 @ 1.3v for almost two years now). 1.3v isn't that much juice. Your temps are fine; mine are about the same place.
