Future Xbox 360 mod ideas

Thread Starter
I am planing on modding my 360 after finals in a few weeks. My Xbox is after warranty and i am almost strictly a pc gamer now (haven't touched my Xbox in about 2 years) so i want to have some fun with it. If anyone has some cool ideas or they want to add any comments pleas do.

My ideas:
Flat black case like this one.
450

The window on the side just like above but with this plexieglass.
150

A window on DVD drive like the one above and one on the HDD case like this one.
700

I am going to get a new green rear fan.

And finally a green 120mm side fan like this one, so all in all the side will be set up like this.
700

So my finals are over now and that means i can get to work. I decided to do one single large window on the side of the case and use 2 120mm fans by cooler master and add some 12 inch cold cathode green lights to make things glow some more. I went shopping online and got a few things. I should get them by around Christmas. This is what i got.

I don't know, that is someone else's case that i am using for ideas. It doesn't look hard to do, just cut a hole in it and fix some plexie glass. I will have details when i try it on my xbox. I am modding the stock xbox case to get the look that i want. I got some green heat shrink tubing today at frys when i picked up one of those crossfire adapters for my friend. Its crazy that it cost me 15 dollars confusedsmiley.png I am waiting for most of the stuff to come in the mail and i wont get it until around christmas but i will be working on stripping my xbox down to the bare minimum to start prepping everything for paint and primer tonight and tomorrow before work.

All right so last night i got a lot done. I got my Xbox completely disassembled. It wasn't hard but taking the clips off that hold the heatsinks on was the most complicated part.

This part slowed me down until i decided that getting the clips off was worth more than messing up my screwdriver. I used it to pry them off where they attached to the screw things.

It is odd how cold thees feel to the touch. Funny little heat pads but i don't see how they can keep dissipating heat when they get hot so they are trash.
450
It was hard to get a picture of this but the thermal past that they used ran all the way onto the motherboard. Very sloppy job Micro$oft.

Nice and clean ready for arctic silver 5.

HAHA i forgot a game in it last time i played it. Must have been about 2 years ago. I had no rubbing alcohol to help clean the thermal past off so i grabbed the next best thing i had, the bottle in the background is vodka lol. It worked well enough.

I have to get some hardware to remount the heat sinks now. Good thing i work at Home Depot today so i can grab it on my lunch. I think i will start some painting today or tomorrow. I cant wait for the rest of the stuff to come in the mail.
