Keyboard, mouse & monitor MOD !

Thread Starter
Hi all !

I'm in need of some modding advice.

Keyboard: I'm planning to mod my Logitech G110 to have a white frame instead of the original black/greyish frame.

Mouse: Another one, would be changing the color of my Mionix Naos 3200. It has a rubber-top. Was just wandering whether spray painting it to white is possible? Leaving the side black or vice versa.

Monitor: Last but not least, the monitor bezel. I'm thinking of changing the color of my black monitor bezel to have a white bezel.

Can anyone give me some advice or point to me where can I get infos on what I need? I've tried searching google but don't have any luck frown.gif

Thanks !

The best option for painting all three of these is to remove the casing and spray pain or even better airbrush on the white paint. you can use masking tape to cover the areas of the mouse that you do not want to be white. Paint specially labeled as plastic paint should be used and DO NOT skimp on the dry time especially for mouse. otherwise sweat will mix with the paint and it will not fully dry and be sticky and smear everywhere.

ok. so its just 1) remove the things that I don't want it to be white for my keyboard. 2) masking tape for areas that I don't want to be sprayed for my mouse. Yes?

I`ll go research on plastic paint. still new to these kind of things

So its possible to spray paint the rubber top of my mionix naos 3200? There's a mionix logo on the rubber top, should I use masking tape to cover those areas? How am I suppose to do it?

If you've never spray painted before, i would get some experience on something else. Spray paint works best in thin layers that dry in between. Yeah, it could take you all day to paint them, but it'll be best in end. ALSO, use a clear coat when final paint layer is dry to give it the shiny smooth texture...

Another thing is that paint will not readily adhere to rubbery surfaces and generally peels/flakes off very easily; as such, I would only paint plastic parts.

Be sure to sand it a bit then use a good primer prior to applying the actual paint.

this might be a little late but there is an automotive interior car dye that work fantastic on plastic, not sure how it would work on the rubbery surfaces

I've used spray-on vinyl die with good success on hard plastics, such as my MX-518 base and scroll wheel cover. This may work well on softer rubber products as well.... might be worth an experiment. headscratch.gif

The boil dyes that people use for keyboard keycaps might work well too. Head to the lab and conduct some experiments! Igor lab assistant sold separately. biggrin.gif
