Triple channel RAM is for Intel triple channel CPU/mobos. The Kingston RAM is rated at up to 1800 MHz. vs. 1333 MHz. for the G.Skill but there is no guarantee that your CPU will run the RAM at it's maixmum speed, though it might. The CPU default RAM frequency is 1066/1333 MHz.

More RAM allows you to open more apps or use larger apps like CAD, video editing, etc. It does NOT generally make any significant improvement in system speed. Most folks only need 4 GB. of RAM for gaming and normal apps. 8 GB. should be plenty for now and the future unless you use the above memory hog apps.
