I think shin etsu performs just a little bit better but not much. I am currently using as5 and my cpu stays nice and cool but then again I'm under water.

I use AS5 because that's what I could get the quickest and easiest, but Shin Etsu looks better; this place has a fairly in depth review

I'm looking into that test and their methodology, and I really don't know how they get temperatures so high on an i7-920 at 3.8GHz and 1.4v. I'm very skeptical of those results.

why is it that the shin etsu x23 is suppose to be the better thermal compound but yet the tuniq tx-4 out performs it.
One other question what thermal compund would i use for the nb and south bridge and can the thermal grease for the cpu be used for the GPU as well.

Have you done a comparison by yourself? If not, how to know its better?
Even reviews that tests 20+ TIM's they can hardly get the same ammount of TIM on the CPU each time.
With curing time...
So the 1-2c difference could allready be by the applying method...
Just by the one that is cheapest / in stock where you buy your parts.

i work for compusa and they don't have anything that is good. i just need to know now which is better as a sence drops about as you said 1-2 maybe 3 c on load/idle. if i go for the tuniq tx-4 will i be able to use it for my gpu as well and if so ho much of a difference will i see there.
