I smell the free generation in this thread, it's on the internetz therefore I shouldn't have to pay. Anyone following this game quill know how much thought has gone into it and expect a massive hit.

As for the graphics it's stylised so as not to age and be recognisable. A lot of options were turned down out off for beta, AA could still be enabled if you knew how. This is not BF3 in space, no MMO will go for that.

As for subscription, I would be unlikely to play if it was free. I want lots of new content, bug fixes, good servers etc. and want to keep out those that don't have a genuine interest in enjoying the game.

Looking forward to lots of cheap great entertainment smile.gif

lol $15 a month for such an antiquated game is asking too much. They may as well gone the FTP... they have a far...far higher profit. Especially when players are able to buy power lol.. To me its foolish to be paying monthly for ANY game. Ofc some jackass is gonna say "haha ur poor" but those are usually the ones that don't notice itsa global recession. From my experiences with SWG sony and LucasArts won't ever see a dime of my money again. Too much time passes with far too little content.

You do realize SWG's cycle was handled exclusively by SOE correct? They have nothing to do with SWTOR. Fifteen dollars a month pays for not only content but server support, maintenance and stability. And what's with that "buy power" comment? There aren't any known MT in SWTOR...

I sub to eve online. Never thought I would find a game that was worth subscribing to but now I would never miss a month. Some games are just worth it.

Hoping this game will be also.

Star Wars: Rebel Assault
Star Wars: Jedi Knight (series)
Just to name a few... I'm sure there are others that were pretty popular in their day.

Most of those games I wouldn't consider "hits", to be honest, and there a lot more games people have probably never heard of. I just mean to say, having "Star Wars" on the cover doesn't guarantee anything, and the market is far from saturated with SW games.

So does it have to be called "WoW" in order to be a hit?

BTW... KOTOR I and II were "Games of the Year" when they were out... and all of those listed were solid games at one point (now granted SWG got shafted but it was solid when it was first released.)

KOTOR would be the exception. I don't consider Rebel Assault, Jedi Knight, or SWG "hits". I didn't mean that they were unsuccessful games, I'm talking about blockbuster-esque titles.

Lots of games fall into that category....

Either way, those games I named were still "successful" on some level. Whether or not they were Blockbusters is kinda irrelevant since most games don't achieve blockbuster status but still are successful games.

But hey to each his/her own.... if it doesn't appeal to you, then just don't play it.
