Corsair H60 fit in a Raven?

Thread Starter
Hello,

I am considering buying one of the Silverstone cases below and I have a 120mm radiator with my H60. I am concerned that I will not be able to put this radiator safely in this case without modding something because there is only a single 120mm fan and it is where hot air exhausts, so realistically, it is not where I want my radiator to be.

Any suggestions? I would assume I would want the cool air coming from the bottom fans to go through it, but being 120mm, I am not sure how to properly mount it... Assuming a single screw doesn't properly secure it.

Also, I will be using two MSI twin frozer cards... Do these cool ok in these cases as 50% of the heat will be directed downward just to be blown back through the card?

Thanks.

the 120mm radiator will fit nicely. no need to mod & you will have some space between the radiator & the PSU which can use to hide a LOT of cables. the casing was design to vent out hot air upwards naturally plus three 180mm fans below will help this greatly, so far my temp has been good and reports from other users also indicated so.

i mount my radiator using the screws from the Cosair H80, it works well. not sure what you mean by "how to properly mount it". sorry.

my GTX590 which vents 50% hot air down back seems to be doing very well in terms of temp.

Thanks.

When using your two MSI graphics cards with Twin Frozr cooling, there are 2 concerns. Both are addressed by Silverstone:-

1. Hot air coming out from the front of the card, blowing downward
Silverstone recommends, in the installation note of their RV02E, using cards which exhausts air to the rear (ie upward) . See below. This concerns the hot air recirculation problem.

362

2. Heatpipes pointing downward and below the GPU core (ie gravity effect on the heat pipes)
This orientation will affect the effectiveness of the cooling. As 2 of the 4 heat pipes of the Twin Frozr will be in such orientation when being inside a FT02/RV02, the cooling performance will suffer.

Read the answer in the Silverstone Q&A of RV02/FT02 to ''Q.I have a custom cooler, how do I know which way the heat pipes should be situated to obtain the best performance in the RV02?''

Summarily speaking, the cooling performance will not be maximized/optimized due to these 2 drawbacks.
However, a number of users report the temperature is still fairly good despite these 2 limitations.
And, there are some others who are not too happy.

So, be an informed buyer and decide if this is acceptable to you.

your Twin Frozr cooling will be fine, i had a 6970 with the windforce cooler, and had really good temps, my 6990 on 50% fans gets 65 degrees pn load
