bringing this thread back to life.
so i decided for this build to go AMD.
i've been an intel guy for 8 years but now that things are so easy to do with intel cpus, like overclocking and the enormous assortment of hardware that are for intel, i simply decided i'd rather take on a challenge getting an underdog cpu and making my build well, mine the best i can.
so i snatched up an AMD FX 8150. i know i know, its bulldozer but like i said i really would like to have my first hand experience with the processor to judge for myself if its the fluke like many ocn'ers say.
here is the parts list:
amd fx 8150
asus crosshair v 990fx
gskill sniper 2133mhz
corsair series 3 60gb ssd (for os)
adata s510 120gb ssd (for games)
xspc raystorm cpu waterblock
ek crosshair v nb waterblock
i'll be using my current samsung f3 1tb hdd for storage, my dual w/c'd 460's (for now) and my semi-newly acquired cooler master gold series 800w psu for the build as well, to save some money in the mean time.
having credit card payments amongst other bills can pretty hard on the wallet
im not bummed that i couldnt get the latest and greatest hardware for this build, life happens and you gotta make due with what you have. i saved a lot of money by going with amd as well and by using some parts from my old build. my play money for the past 5 months have all been toward my car lol so oh well.
parts should be in this week hopefully, i painted the aluminum parts in the case black finally and am assembling the case back together getting it ready for the incoming hardware.
either way this new build will be epic compared to my current build lol
