6/27/12 minor UPDATE

i'm supposed to be leaving to Washington soon for a work project that'll take 1-2 weeks, might be this friday, might be next week hopefully after 4th of july. so that is holding me back from ordering my next wave of things this very instant tongue.gif

here are the goodies i plan to get:

8gb gskill sniper ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231519

artic cooling mx2:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186020

mips 4 module ram block:
http://www.mips-computer.com/index.htm?frame=sg_MIPSProductline_RAMCooler_NickelPomBlack.htm

black ice sr1 140mm radiator:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27520:b591d1f3a0c57bc0c0d1b2a4474faf76

koolance drain valve:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24529:c98068d915974691c9e9feb2c9b90f8d

mayhems red dye:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=34089

unfortunately when i assembled my rig i forgot to include a drain valve of some sort doh.gif so i figure when its time to drain the system to change things up, i can just make a small incision in the tubing where i plan to put the drain valve (right after pump1 going to the 240 rad) and let it just all leak out lol i dont see any other option. the rig holds a half gallon of distilled water lmaosmiley.gif plus the case is ridiculously heavy so turning it over to drain out the fill ports would be just stupid and probably lead to disaster lol

i love my temps right now but i figure an extra 140mm rad couldnt hurt, plus there is a big enough void at the rear exhaust 140mm fan that the radiator will fit just fine, and i'll use that tb silence fan that i already have as a pull fan and leave it as that.

as for the dye, my color scheme is red and black, depth defying, i know. but i thought about running dark green dye in the water. i was going to go about this by buying a bottle of the mayhems yellow/green uv dye, and the mayhems deep blue dye. i figured the ratio would be 10:1 yellow/green to blue to get dark green, like an emerald green color. but im actually on the fence about that right now. i cant decide what to do with the color. another cool thing about running the part yellow/green uv dye is that i could place on of my uv cathodes in between the reservoirs and that'll definitely bring some attention to the reservoir side of the case lol but i just dont know. i love the simplicty of the straight red versus the uv and the green that wouldnt really match with anything etc etc. idk lol.

im also a little on the fence about how i'll be using the ram block, and by that i mean should i use thermal pads on the chips? or the mx2? mips says thermal pads for rma reasons which i never even thought of so that got me thinking. what do you guys think? temp wise it wont make a difference i already know that lol.

well anyway lemme know what you guys think about all this! i'd appreciate whatever feedback you can give me. thanks! thumb.gif

Love the silver ingots.

I might go down to this store in my town that sells coins and ingots and buy a nice size for my res.
Just need to get a big enough one to be seen lol.

Giving me lots of ideas for future cases when I have the tools and nerve to mod a case.

great work on that midplate thumb.gif

just use thermal pads on the RAM, it´s going to be way cooler than before anyway and it´ll be easier to put the blocks on new memory sticks in the future

and I think any color dye (or tubing) looks good in a predominantly black & silver case biggrin.gif
