For exclusive gaming, red is the best option.
Filco, Leopold, Noppoo Choc mini, Rosewill, WASD keyboard, DAS are the brands that have good reputation around here. You choose.

I honestly prefer blacks for gaming, but that may just be me, I prefer the "stiffer" nature of the MX-Blacks for gaming, and it makes me feel like they are a little sturdier...

I'll have to go with stinky on this one. Not everyone prefers reds for exclusive gaming. In fact I would think blacks are better because I believe there is a possibility to depress red switches just by resting your fingers on them, as would often happen when you are gaming. Of course that is not strictly true and everyone's experience will vary.

I'd also strongly recommend to Noppoo Choc Mini if you are on a budget. I love the compact form factor.

That keyboard looks very nice. Cheers. I don't think I like the sound of Reds imo because I play a lot of League of Legends (over 5 hours a day) and I usually rest my hands on QWER and other keys around it. However I use the computer for well over ten hours a day both working and gaming so I don't want something that will tire my hands (blacks?) So that is why i was leaning towards Browns.

AND. Now I am considering forking out $150 on a mechanical keyboard if people can convince me it is really worth it? If I do get one for $150 I want it to last me two years + or I feel it is void. Doesn't have to be the le-creme (like a Filco) but something that won't break and will just be a perfect pick. If forking out an extra $50 means I will get something that I will love and enjoy and need no further upgrade for years to come, then I guess I am all for it! smile.gif

Currently from first page, I checked http://www.mechkeyboards.com/ and found this: http://www.mechkeyboards.com/shine.html

$150 to Australia incl shipping for a Ducky Shine? Best deal for me? Red LEDs.

Only thing I don't know is which switch to go.

Or any other suggestions.

Cheers to everyone who posted. Now I am looking more seriously about my keyboard selection.

I can't really go 50% gaming 50% typing because every day it switches. I just want a best all rounder. Still leaning towards the Brown switches slightly.

Your hands tiring has only to do with how strong your hands are, many people can use the heavy switches all day with no problems. Do you think you have what it takes?

Mech keyboards is in Brisbane AUS. Brown switches are in between red and blue for weight. The tactile bump in brown when gaming may not be noticeable as its a light bump.

The life of the keyboard should last. Would be surprised if it did not, that's not to say it can't as everything can fail at some point.

As for the wrist rest you may need to buy one separately.
Give it a try without one as you may find you don't need it, otherwise you can buy one later.

I have quite small hands so I may not have what it takes. I think brown is my best choice or maybe blue?

I live on the Gold Coast so it should arrive fairly fast if I order from them, which isn't something I really care about (I can wait a week or so).

I dont think I would need an arm wrest since I have just noticed with one of my hands I put it off the small wrist wrest of the Thermaltake keyboard the majority of the time I am using it so I maybe I am used to it? I am not quite sure but if I do need aone I may order one cheap online.

I still not entirely convinced on what switch to get. I don't think I am suited to Black since I play games for long hours at a time but some people say they cant type fast on browns? Maybe blues?

Currently: Brown > Blue > Black.

I have small hands so that may have to become a factor.

Currently I will be going for;

Ducky 9008S Shine - $150. (havent chosen switch yet)

But also considering the;

DAS series keyboard (Brown or Blue) - $120-$130

Steel Series 7G - $150

I could even go a FIlco Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless (I never use numpad anyways) for $140 + shipping so it'll be over $160 I presume.

Gah never knew buying a keyboard would be so hard.

I have a Microsoft Comfort 4000 which is much more difficult to push down keys then my TT gaming keyboard so maybe if someone could tell me how close those keys represent that keyboard then I would know what to pick?

Still all up in the air at the moment. Though I am leaning towarsd Ducky 9008S Shine with Brown switches.

I think I am just going to jump the bandwagon and get the Ducky 9008S Shine Brown MX switch RED LED.

Seems like the best choice imo and the build quality seems good. Brown switches seem like the middle grown that I want.

Cheers for all the help everyone cant wait to receive it in the coming days! smile.gif
